Sea Kayak - Skagit & Hope Islands

We’ll depart from Cornet Bay riding a flood current down to Ben Ure is. Next over to Hope for lunch, we’ll continue on and circumnavigate Hope island. You must physically touch every island we paddled by, Brian H’s idea. And they’re eight in area, Come and join the fun. Maybe we’ll see some cool creatures while we’re at it.

Tow Belt

I would recommend bringing a lunch something hot to drink lots of snacks expect to have a good time.

We’ll be following Covid protocols per Mountaineers requirements.

Just as a Challenge and we’ll discuss at our  beach huddle if we can think of a way to get all eight of the islands nearby. We can deviate and do it.  Or maybe we can get to just seven.

Required Equipment

These eight essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips.  All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.

  1. Floatation in both ends of the kayak
  2. U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
  3. Paddle
  4. Spray skirt
  5. Bilge pump with floatation
  6. Self-rescue paddle float
  7. Waterproof whistle
  8. Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
