Meet at 9am at the far eastern end of 2nd St in downtown Bremerton. We can only stay there long enough to unload, then park car in paid parking area ($8). So we will load our boats on the sidewalk area and carry them down one-by-one to launch (no wheels needed, ~100 ft carry).

We will paddle past the Bremerton-Seattle ferry dock then continue along the PSNS shipyard area and observe the ships undergoing maintenance & decommissioning, staying the required distance away. Our destination is Elandan Gardens, where we will change into clothes, eat our picnic lunches we bring (only coffee is available on-site), and go on an optional tour of the Bonzai museum ($8). More information about the Bonzai trees (one is 1500 years old) at Those not wishing to go on the tour can walk about the grounds or relax. Then back into paddling wear to return to the launch.

Immersion wear not required. Bring along clothing to change into at the Gardens.

Driving directions: From Hwy 3 take the Kitsap Way exit and drive east. Kitsap Way becomes 6th St. Take a right on Pacific. Follow cars around to the left toward the ferry booths but instead bear left on slip road (1st street, becomes Washington Ave). Take a right on 2nd St and go to the end.

Those wishing to carpool to save the parking fees and reduce load/unload congestion, may do so by utilizing this feature on the Mountaineers website. A convenient place to meet is at the former QFC location on Kitsap Way, just east of Oyster Bay Rd. Look for GoWireles Verizon™ Store (4195 Kitsap Way).
