Meet at 9:45am. Those renting boats or suits meet at the Olympic Outdoor Center, 32379 N Rainier Ave, Port Gamble, WA. Others not needing rentals meet directly at the waterfront launch area at the bottom of the hill from the shop at 10am. Please carefully consider your carbon footprint and consider carpooling to location.

Preference will be given to Tacoma Basic Class students.

You have the option of renting gear from the Olympic Outdoor. Arrange your gear through their website at www.olympicoutdoorcenter.com. Click here for a drysuit package, and here for a boat package. Pick the correct trip as there may be multiple listed. You can ring them at 360-297-4659, and ask for Forrest or Drew if you need to contact them.  Rental gear can get tied up, so calling sooner rather than later is recommended. Note that you will need to purchase or supply your own gloves and neoprene hood. They provide a "boat package" (boat, paddle, paddle float pump, PFD) and / or a "Drysuit Package" (drysuit and booties). The boats will be at the water's edge, so no car racks are required. The Mountaineer package prices shown are a 10% discount.

Plan on paddling from Port Gamble Bay, then going to Salisbury Park just west down Hood Canal for a quick snack (weather permitting). After circumnavigating Port Gamble Bay and stopping for lunch at a private residence, we'll do rescues. Bring Picnic lunch. Wet or Dry Suit required. Toilets available at (after 10am) at launch, at Salisbury Point, and the private residence.
