Sea Kayak - Pitt Passage

A trip north through Pitt Passage to explore Penrose Point State Park, Lakebay, and Von Geldern Cove. After the tide turns we'll paddle south through the Passage to explore Filucy Bay and Long Branch.

We will meet at 9 AM and launch at 9:45 AM. We’ll launch from the 72nd KPS street end ramp. Cut and paste the following in to Google maps for directions:

Please car pool if you can, as there is little parking. Also hit the restroom on the way as there are no facilities at the launch.

Leader Permission required to register. Please ask  if you are not on the roster.

These seven essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips.  All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.

  1. Floatation in both ends of the kayak
  2. U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
  3. Paddle
  4. Spray skirt
  5. Bilge pump with floatation
  6. Self-rescue paddle float
  7. Waterproof whistle
  8. Dry Suits are Required !!
  9. Extra clothes
  10. Hot lunch
