Hobuck Beach & Neah Bay

Trip

Sea Kayak - Neah Bay

(SUNDAY) Join us for an exploration of the Neah Bay area. Depending on conditions, we will paddle from Neah Bay to Third Beach and possibly farther east or near Waadah Island.

  • Sea Kayak III
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 10.0 nm
  • Maximum Wind: 15 kts
  • Maximum Waves: 2 ft
  • Maximum Currents: 2 kts
  • Pace: moderate

This is a beginner/intermediate coastal kayak trip and the route will depend on conditions that day.  It will be a shorter trip of  about 8 nm because many people will be traveling home that day.   Paddlers who have done some or no coastal kayaking  will be able to gain experience in an interesting and somewhat dynamic environment.

It is part of the Surf and Camping Weekend at Hobuck Beach, so make sure you are also registered for that event also.

We will meet in Neah Bay at 8 am and launch at 9am (exact launch point and route will be decided the evening before, but probably Dakwas Park or near Warmhouse Restaurant).  We will return to the launch by 1pm.   Bring ten essentials including water, lunch and snack.
