Expect this to be an easy to moderate trip, rated SK II, though possibly can be choppy on the north end of Marrowstone, hence SK II+.

Plan A: take-out at East Beach County Park. We'll shuttle cars to that location after unloading kayaks and gear at Mystery Bay.

Plan B: take-out at Mystery Bay. If wind observed or forecast to be higher than SK II conditions, we'll paddle within Kilisut Harbor, returning to Mystery Bay State Park.

We'll have a better idea of A vs B the week before the trip.

From Mystery Bay we'll travel north to Fort Flagler for a lunch stop where there are restroom facilities and running water. After lunch, around slack +/-, we'll exit the north end of Kilisut Harbor and paddle east across the north end of Marrowstone then around the point past the lighthouse (still in use). Optional stop nearby along the state park shoreline, otherwise continue with some current assist to East Beach County Park.

Approximate finish: 4:30 PM.

Meet at Mystery Bay State Park at 9:30 AM for a 10:30 AM launch. After unloading kayaks we'll relocate vehicles to East Beach County Park (0.5 mi away) for take-out. There is a vault toilet at Mystery Bay SP near the launch.

A Discover Pass is required for parking at Mystery Bay SP (there is no kiosk here for real-time purchase). A pass is not required for parking at East Beach park.

Coffee/tea and snacks are available before reaching Mystery Bay SP, at the coop-run Nordland General Store 0.5 miles away (open 8 AM – 6 PM), or at Starbucks inside QFC located in Port Hadlock.
