9:00 AM at Pt. Defiance boat launch
Paddle from Pt. Defiance boat launch across to Vashon Island; then up the east side of Colvos Passage for approximately 4.5 miles to Lisabeula Park, a small Cascadia Marine Trails campsite. Spend the night in the park, then paddle back the next day. This is meant as an introduction to overnight camping. Students from this years basic classes may be permitted, depending on skills, but this is more advanced than a typical "student paddle". There can be some "fun" water on the southern tip of Vashon Island, with a 1 mile crossing; just to make the trip more interesting. We will ride the ebb up the passage, and come back on slack (will likely still need to paddle against some current on the trip home). Drysuits required. Limited to 6 participants due to the small camping area in the park.
