This is an intermediate coastal trip. Most likely, we will launch from Neah Bay and explore the north side of Cape Flattery. Point of Arches is a possible backup. It depends on conditions.
However, expect to paddle in coastal conditions: Land and launch through surf. Swell. Moving water around rocks.
You must
- a) have mountaineers history that shows experience in coastal conditions or
- b) contact me and describe your experience.
- c) Able to paddle at 3.5 kt pace so we have time to explore our target areas.
This is an "intermediate" trip. Max conditions are listed below. However, we likely won't go out with all at max. I'll adjust the trip as needed. I expect participants will have experience in conditions but not mastery, and be learning on this trip.
- Surf landing <= 2.5 ft
- Swell <= 6ft
- Sustained winds <=20kt
The destination will be changed as needed to stay within these.
Meeting time to be arrange Thursday evening at Hobuck. You must plan to arrive on Thursday. If arriving late, look for e-mail.
