We’ll paddle south from Golden Gardens, past Shilshole Marina, and we’ll cross Shilshole Bay over to the shore of Magnolia. West Point lighthouse can provide a scenic stop for a break, restroom, or lunch. Our turn around back to Golden Gardens will be at 4 Mile Rock.
Meet at the south end of Golden Gardens Beach (the south end of the sandy beach). There is ample parking behind the beach. We’ll plan to launch at 9 a.m.

Required Equipment
These eight essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips. All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.
- Floatation in both ends of the kayak
- U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
- Paddle
- Spray skirt
- Bilge pump with floatation
- Self-rescue paddle float
- Waterproof whistle
- Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
