This SK V paddle will start at Crescent Bay, with a rock garden paddle over to Freshwater Bay for lunch, and then back. It's about 9 nm RT. Paddlers must be experienced and comfortable with surf of up to 4 feet and winds of up to 15 kts.
Immersion gear, helmets and gloves are required. Excessive surf or winds will cancel this trip.
There is a $6 per person fee for parking and launching from Crescent Beach.
If the surf and weather conditions are just right (which only happens about 25% of the time this time of year) then we have the option of going up to the area the night before (on Saturday, September 20) and playing in the surf, then camping at Salt Creek Recreation Area.
Leader approval is required to go on this trip. If you are interested, contact Beth Owen at bluekayak123@yahoo.com.
