I'd like to guide a small group of learners through an RG "progression" of sorts - starting small and getting bigger, gradually taking on more leadership, independence, responsibility.
Objectives include:
- improving boat handling in conditions
- reading the water - identifying safe zones, fun zones, and no-go zones.
- Situational awareness and rescue efficiency
- Group leadership and communication
This is not an intro course. This is not a comprehensive how-to clinic.
This "workshop" is more like a trip with learning opportunities built in.
Please have experience in rock gardens as well as launching and landing in surf.
I am limiting the roster to 4 participants. This'll help me focus on your learning and safety, and enhance group cohesion.
Meet at Freshwater Bay, nearly ready to paddle by 10:15. We'll plan to launch by 11 or earlier.
We will be off the water between 2 - 3.
