Arrive at least 20 minutes prior to start time to allow for dropping your boat and gear, parking and walking back to the gear drop. Come with a clean boat inside and out. Be ready to sign a waiver for the facility.
Make sure your boat is clean inside and out. Be careful when putting boats on the pool deck, entering in the water, exiting the water and while in the pool to not damage the sides of the pool or pool deck.
Required Equipment
20 essentials are not needed however if you want to practice with a full boat bring what you want; just make sure it is clean.
These eight essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips. All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.
- Floatation in both ends of the kayak
- U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
- Paddle
- Spray skirt
- Bilge pump with floatation
- Self-rescue paddle float
- Waterproof whistle
- Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
