Parking is tight in that area. You can unload boat and gear at ramp and then will need to find street parking (probably paid). It may be a 3-4 block walk so plan on that amount of time in your preparations.
Check Ferry Schedule and make sure you arrive in plenty of time for the launch.
Proof of current up-to-date Covid 19 Vaccine Required. (Added 7/27/22 to be very clear on requirement. All participants as of today have been verified and have Vaccine Verification Badge)
This is a casual paddle primarily designed for 2022 Sea Kayak Basic Course Students (any branch) however others may participate if space is available. This trip doesn't have much current to deal with however the wind can be problematic.
We'll launch from the city dock/boat ramp, paddle out to Blakely Rock (not Blake Island). Depending on wildlife activity/proximity and beach area avaialable we may or may not stop. After Blakely Rock we'll paddle into Port Blakely for a lunch stop (pack your own) at the remains of the old steam generating plant. On the way back, weather and time permitting, we'll stop at the Bainbridge Island Japanese/American Exclusion Memorial before returning to the dock around 2-3PM.
Kayak rentals are available from Exotic Aquatics. Contact them prior and reserve on your own: https://www.exoticaquaticsscuba.com/kayaking
