  • Mileage: 8.0 nm

When:  Meet at 9:30AM Launch at 10:30AM

Where: Public boat ramp at end of Shannon Drive in Bainbridge/Eagle Harbor Waterfront Park.

I expect this sea kayak trip to have this difficulty and these conditions.  View the sea kayak difficulties definitions on the Activity Types page.

  • Difficulty: SK I-II
  • Wind: Depends on conditions on that day.  Can be a bit choppy if windy.
  • Waves:  Again, depends on conditions for that day.  Should be minimal unless windy.
  • Route: Paddle from launch site out to Blakely Rock then back into Port Blakely/Blakely Harbor and return.  Lunch will be at halfway point in Blakely Harbor on beach. 
  • Distance:  6-8 nm
  • Pace: easy, relaxed.

Students of the 2015 Everett Chapter Sea Kayak Class will be given priority on this paddle.  Boat Rentals are available at Back-of-Beyond in Bainbridge.

These seven essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips.  All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.

  1. Floatation in both ends of the kayak
  2. U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
  3. Paddle
  4. Spray skirt
  5. Bilge pump with floatation
  6. Self-rescue paddle float
  7. Waterproof whistle
  8. Wet Suit or Dry Suit is required.
