Sea Kayak - Deception Pass
Paddle and camp. Join the Mountaineers kayak community for a weekend of kayaking and camping at Deception Pass State Park. We have reserved the group site for Friday and Saturday evenings. Join this event and pay $14 if you plan to camp on Friday Night. (Camping fee is waived for leaders/instructors who lead a trip or course-contact leader for registration.)

This is an opportunity to spend time paddling in the Deception Pass area and camping with the Mountaineers Sea Kayaking community. There will be a number of trips and clinics posted in the vicinity. Camping in the group campsite is reserved for 50 people.
We have reserved the Deception Pass group campsite for Friday and Saturday evenings. Register and pay for this event to camp on Friday night. Register separately to camp on Saturday night.
Then, look for trips posted in the Deception Pass vicinity on October 6-8.
NOTE: Trip leader rating and difficulty varies depending on the individual trip or course offered in conjunction with this event. Trips will be posted throughout the summer. Trip signups will begin August 1.

Required Equipment
These eight essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips. All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.
- Floatation in both ends of the kayak
- U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
- Paddle
- Spray skirt
- Bilge pump with floatation
- Self-rescue paddle float
- Waterproof whistle
- Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
