Paddle from Cornet Bay to Deception Island and Lottie Bay, with a little time playing in the DP flood current afterwards. This paddle is for participants of the Paddle and Camp at DP weekend.

This paddle is reserved for participants of the Paddle and Camp weekend at DP. All participants must be vaccinated for COVID-19.
We will paddle from Cornet Bay, go around Deception Island then stop just inside Rosario Head for a break, before heaing back into DP to play in a moderate flood current.
No previous experience in DP needed, though participants must be comfortable with some exposure to dynamic water and with rescues.
Bring your Discover Pass for parking. Helmets and gloves required.
Meet at 10:00 am, launch at 11:00 am, at Cornet Bay boat launch (W Cornet Bay Rd, Oak Harbor.)

Required Equipment
These eight essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips. All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.
- Floatation in both ends of the kayak
- U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
- Paddle
- Spray skirt
- Bilge pump with floatation
- Self-rescue paddle float
- Waterproof whistle
- Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
