Sea Kayak - Crescent Bay to Lyre River

Crescent Bay to the outfall of the Lyre River and back along a beautiful stretch of coastline. We'll explore the nooks and crannies with rock garden opportunities to the extent weather and sea state allow.

  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 12.0 nm
  • Maximum Wind: 15 kts
  • Maximum Waves: 2.5 ft

This paddle is a complement to the Freshwater Bay paddle on April 27 for those who want to enjoy a car camp/paddling weekend on the Peninsula.  Priority will be given to those paddlers that want to register for both weekend paddles.  When requesting leader's permission please indicate if you plan to paddle both days.  I'm planning on car camping at the Crescent Bay Beach & RV Park and we can arrange reservations in advance.

You must be comfortable paddling in winter conditions, including ocean swell and surf, where wind/waves can be a factor.  Dry suit and helmet required for both paddles.  Note that route may change based on conditions/weather/group skill levels.

Meet at the Crescent Bay Beach & RV Park.  Please arrive with enough time to be ready to launch at 10:00 AM.
