Meet at the Chinese Reconciliation Park (Jack Hyde Park) at 8:00 am for a 9:00 launch. 

Wheels will be helpful at the launch. 

Restroom is nearby down the waterfront walking path.

We will be launching from the Tacoma Chinese Reconciliation Park ( Jack Hyde Park), paddling down the Foss waterway, then making the arc around Commencement Bay up to Brown's Point where we will have a lunch break. From there we will return to the Chinese Reconciliation Park. 

Please be prepared for cold weather. This includes warm gloves, hat, warm layers under a drysuit, and a warm beverage with lunch. 

Restrooms are available at both the launch and the lunch site. 

The 10 plus essentials and a drysuit are required. 

We will be following Covid 19 guidelines.

Required Equipment

These eight essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips.  All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.

  1. Floatation in both ends of the kayak
  2. U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
  3. Paddle
  4. Spray skirt
  5. Bilge pump with floatation
  6. Self-rescue paddle float
  7. Waterproof whistle
  8. Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
