In a counter-clockwise fashion, leave from Penrose Point State Park crossing to Green Point up to Cutts Island. After a break, head directly west toward Minter, then follow the shoreline south for a quick stop at the water trails site before looping back to Penrose Point SP.

  • Sea Kayak II/III
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 11.0 nm
  • Maximum Wind: 12 kts
  • Maximum Waves: 2 ft
  • Maximum Currents: 2 kts
  • Pace: 2.8

Meeting at Penrose Point State Park for a targeted 0900 launch.   321 158th Avenue SW. Lakebay, WA 98349

Plan to be back at launch site by 1500, latest.   Bathroom available at launch site.  Lunch at Cutts Island.

There will 2 crossings involved in this trip, and each of 2 nm in length - so do please take note.  You should be comfortable remaining in boat for up to 5nm without stoppage.   The inlet can get quite windy and sloppy, especially with a southerly, but we will keep it mellow for this one.  Will avoid a headwind suffer fest.  If conditions are much outside the stated range, will likely cancel.  More explicit details will follow.
