We'll drive up to Port Hardy on Saturday August 8th, and arrange for a car shuttle. We'll launch August 9th.
Some would consider this a "bucket list" trip. Is is an advanced level challenging open coastal paddle with limited "outs" along the way. THIS IS NOT A TRAINING TRIP. Currents, surf launches and landings, wind, ocean swell, and possibly long paddle days will likely make up some of the fun. Participants must have had wind and waves experience, incident management training, currents experience, and at least a week long kayak camping trip. A roll is a must.
Participants must demonstrate their skill level to the leader. We'll likely have a mandatory group trip to Cape Flattery prior to this trip. Must be a mountaineers member.
