Meet for 10:30 launch at Washington Park Boat Launch

Alternately, we may meet at Coronet Bay boat launch to paddle in Deception Pass Flood.   Location to be determined a few days before depending on weather forecast.

This is an outing for intermediate skills development and trip leader skills development.  We will look for SKIV conditions if possible and practice boat handling and rescues.  If the weather is good (meaning windy) we'll paddle around Burrows and Allen islands.  If the weather is too calm we'll go to deception pass where we can play in a moderate flood.

Participants should

  • Have intermediate boat handling skills
  • Have paddled in Deception Pass flood and ebb
  • Able to be rescued and rescue others in dynamic water
