Come join me on a 4 night adventure through the Broken Group! We will camp two nights on Gibraltar island and two nights on Turret island, spending our days exploring the various islands of the Broken Group. This will be a relatively laid back trip, I don't expect to do long days of paddling.

Please have prior experience kayaking in wind and waves and ideally some kayak camping experience. If you only have backpacking experience, but want to learn and are willing to invest in some more gear I'm happy to help you transition to kayak camping.

You'll need to carry all your water for 5 days with you as there is no potable water available.

Style

  •  We'll start early the first and last days, but the rest we can decide as a group what we want to accomplish, which may start early or may have a more relaxed start.
  • We'll mostly stick to the sheltered water, but could potentially stick our noses out in the more open ocean if conditions are calm enough.
  • I haven't been to the Broken Group before, so we'll be exploring the area together, come with your chart and some ideas about what you want to see and we'll plan the days together.
  • I enjoy cooking on more laid back trips like this, so hopefully we can make some good food together!

Expenses

I believe expenses will work out to about $120-$150 CAD per person for camping, parking and kayak launch fees, plus around $200 CAD per vehicle for the ferry

Camp at Secret Beach Campground, Toquaht Bay Rd, Ucluelet, the night of June 25th, and prepare to launch the next morning.
