Sea Kayak - Broken Group Islands
Paddle among the Broken Group Islands of Barkley Sound on the west coast of Canada's Vancouver Island. For those with paddling skills at the Sea Kayak III+ difficulty rating, this is a moderate trip. If conditions are good, we may venture out to the outer islands and experience some coastal swell.

We plan to make this an easy-going trip, no marathon paddles at high speed. This place is to be enjoyed! You do that by meandering slowly along the shorelines. If conditions are good and the group is up for it, we may go to Clark or Benson to enjoy some ocean swell...carefully.
**This trip is full. I'm not accepting anyone on the waitlist for now. If somone should drop, then I would only take someone that I have paddled with and am confident would be a good fit with the group.**
Camp at Secret Beach Campground, Toquaht Bay Rd, Ucluelet, the night of August 31st, and prepare to launch at 9:00am latest. We'll plan to return on Sept 7th.
Reservations have been made for the first 3 nights on Gibraltar, and the second 3 nights on Dodd (Willis is closed due to damage).
You have to bring all your own water for this trip; none is available on the islands.
The cost of the camping in the islands is about $US 60 per person. Secret Beach charges (Canadian $) $45 per campsite (up to 4 people, two tents, last year's rates), $15 launch fee, and $10/day parking. No electricity is available.
You must have kayak camping experience, and capable of carrying food and water for 6 nights/7 days.
