Manchester Boat Launch.  Time TBD.

This is a student paddle through the Tacoma chapter.  We will be practicing wet exits and self and assisted re-entries.  The paddle will leave from Manchester boat launch, cross over to Blake Island, circle the island before stopping for a break and heading back.  Open to mountaineers members only.  Prefer paddlers be vaccinated for Covid, as we will be practicing rescues.

Required Equipment

These three essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips.  All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.

  1. U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
  2. Paddle
  3. Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
  4. Dry suit required due to expected rescue practice.
