This is a B3 Alumni Trip so preference will be given to any graduate of B3 until March 30th. Then the trip will open up to anyone with a backpacking badge or equivalency. There is a short hike in of about 3.5 miles and we will set up camp there by the lake. We will travel at a steady but moderate pace. If you are a speed demon, this is probably not your trip. At times this is a little more of route than a trail, but it is easy to follow. Once we set up camp we will go exploring some of the rocky hills around us where we will get about 600 feet of gain and maybe a max of additional 6 miles. Main goal is to open the backpacking season, meet some great folks, and enjoy some Eastern Washington sun! Again there will be a Hello Hiker with more details sent out the weekend before.

Group will meet at Barker Canyon Boat Launch on Banks Lake and be ready to hike at 11:00 AM. We will need Discover Passes for any cars. Details on carpooling will be in hello hiker sent out the weekend before.

Required Equipment

Your usual overnight pack, your 10 essentials, 2 days worth of food, and a bear canister are all required. Sorry, there are scarce trees to tie anything to on this trip. Also, there will be no water until we get to camp. So be prepared to start with at least a liter. Any questions about specific equipment can be directed leader.
