Naturalist Trip - Stillwater Natural Area
Enjoy a morning stroll on an old graveled railroad bed trail as we search this wetland area for birds. This is a favorite birding hotspot with a good variety of birds. We will walk slowly and stop often for approximately 3-4 hours. Assisant Leader Applicants are welcome.

This is one of my favorite birding hotspots there are ducks in the ponds, birds in the cattails, birds flying overhead and birds in the trees. Some have nests so expect to see busy parents flying in and out and maybe some fledglings.
The goal is to bird for approximately 3 hours while being safe and having fun. We will walk together at a slow pace and stop often to listen and search for birds. Sharing our skills and knowledge will make us more successful.
We'll start out walking toward Carnation for about 1.5 hours then turn around and walk in the opposite direction towards Duvall then walk back to the parking area.
One Assistant Leader is welcome to contact me at 206-550-3890 to be added to the leader roster.
Meet at 8:00am in the parking lot just a quarter mile north from the Stillwater Store along SR 203. This parking lot is not very well-signed, so drive slowly if this is your first time here. Look for a dirt road driveway and old wooden sign. Unfortunately the lettering has faded. I use the Stillwater Store as the location for google maps.
There is no toilet here and few places to go off trail. Its best to find a restroom along the way. There is no restroom available at the Stillwater Store either.
