Let's make a stop on the Washinton State Great Birdng Trail. The mix of saltwater from Possession Sound and fresh water from the Snohomish River create a unique ecosystem that is great for birds.

Spencer Island is a flat, grassy intertidal complex ringed by mixed forest, located in the Snohomish River estuary. We should see shorebirds, water fowl and more. The primary focus of this trip is birding, but plants and mammals are not off limits.
