Naturalist Trip - Mount Walker
This hike will lead to two great views and wildflowers/rhododendron galore if we have good weather and the timing is right for the bloom. This hike is difficult for a reason - 2000 feet of elevation gain in two miles - but that will give us a reason to hike slowly, stop a lot, and appreciate what we are seeing.

Ten Essentials, water, snacks, good footwear, hiking poles if desired. Dress for the weather. Wildflower and plant identification apps on your phone will be useful. This is a difficult hike, and we will go slowly on the way up and down to observe and appreciate the area. If you hope for a conditioning hike, this is not the hike for you as the pace will be a "naturalist crawl".
