Naturalist Trip - Lincoln Park

Grab your bonoculars and join our Birding Monday walk at Lincoln Park. With Puget Sound and the hundreds of tree its a great place for woodland and sea going birds. We'll have a birdie time walking a few of the many trails along the beach and up on the ridge. This is a trip for community learning for all level of birders.

  • Easy, Easy
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 3.0 mi
  • Pace: Slow with many stops

We will spend approximately 3 hours walking at a leisurely pace stopping often to view and identify birds.  Since we stop often and will stand for short periods, be sure to dress warmly and in layers  to adjust as needed. Its a little cooler along the beach. I'll be looking for the beautiful Harliquin Ducks from the beach facing the ferry doc. I'll also keep an eye out for the Orange Crowned Warblers in the trees.

We'll walk in a clockwise direction from the parking lot to the beach then walk around to the west side of the beach. We'll what sea going bird surprises we find along the beach.  We'll walk slowly up the staircase to the wooded area to look for woodland birds, warblers, wrens, sparrows and others.

We'll meet at 8:00 am at the south parking lot just north of the Vashon Ferry Terminal.

There are two easily accessed bathrooms.  We will stop at the first one we encounter along the beach not too far from the parking lot.
