This hike provides lake, stream, woods, meadow and alpine habitats for a wide variety of trees, flowers and possibly berries for the eye and the heart. The views of Mt. Rainier from Tolmie are not too shabby.

9:15 AM at the trailhead along the road to the Mowich Lake Campground. Toilets on the way up are available at the Paul's Peak Trailhead just into the park on the Mowich Lake Road. Carpooling will be from the Green Lake (65th Street NE) Park and Ride under I5 . A second carpool location may also be arranged farther south. It is about 2 hours drive to the trailhead from Seattle.

This is a naturalist trip which means frequent stops for identifying what we are looking at. Emphasis  will be on using apps to help with identification of plants and birds. It's a great learning opportunity for budding naturalists.
