Naturalist Trip - Deception Pass State Park
We visit several stellar birding and flower locations on both sides, and in the middle to Deception Pass including Rosario Beach, Bowman Bay, Pass Island and the Cranberry Lake aeaa of Deception Pass State Park. We look for marine birds and early spring flowers, which get any early start in the open meadows adjacent to the water. There are also interesting trees, licchen and mosses.

An early harbinger of spring in the flowers and a late nod to winter in the marine birds. All are possible on this trip. Learn how to identify tiny early bloomers. Look for loons and murrelets and early camas and saxifrages. Binoculars helpful and scopes for the marine birds.
