Meet at 8:00am at the Soest Garden fountain just east of the Center for Urban Horticulture.  Be sure to secure your car since the neighboring parking lot is prone to break-ins.

The goal is to locate and identify birds as we slowly walk through the landscape together listening for and identifying birds. We will spend approximately 3 hours walking at a leisurely pace stopping often.  Bring binoculars and a spotting scope if you have one. Also, bring a bird book or a bird app such as Merlin to aid in identification.

After introductions, we will walk through the Yesler Swamp looking mainly for birds, but we may also see plants, reptiles and mammals. We’ll head back to the Center For Urban Horticulture about 9am for a restroom break. We’ll then head to the Union Bay Natural Area to search for more birds.
