Meet at 8:00am at the Soest Garden fountain just east of the Center for Urban Horticulture. Be sure to secure your car since the neighboring parking lot is prone to break-ins.
The goal is to walk and view the landscape together to locate birds. Sharing knowledge, skills and more eyes will make us more successful. We will spend approximately 3 hours walking at a leisurely pace stopping often to view and identify birds. Bring binoculars and a spotting scope if you have one. Also bring a bird book or a bird app such as Merlin to aid in identification.
After introductions we will walk through the Union Bay Natural Area trails looking mainly for birds, but we may also see plants, reptiles and mammals. We’ll head back to the Center For Urban Horticulture about 10am for a restroom break. We’ll then head to the swamp to observe more birds.
