- Trip will happen either May 27 or 28 (not both). If you sign-up, be able to attend either day. Choice will depend on date with the best weather forecast - May 28 is preferred.
- Calf-high rubber boots/rain boots are the preferred footwear. Other waterproof boots may be used - be aware that saltwater is usually not considered friendly to leather or synthetic materials of hiking boots. NOT ACCEPTABLE: sandals, water slippers or stretchy slip-on water shoes - these are not acceptable for safety reasons: encrustations on intertidal rocks are very sharp and seaweed covered surfaces are slippery.
- Public restrooms are located near the intersection of 63rd Ave SW and Alki Ave SW, about 0.4 mile walk from our meeting location (along 63rd, ~20 minute round trip walk).
- Meeting time for Tues May 27→10:00am (-4.0 @ 11:35am)
- Meeting time for Wed May 28→11:00am Meet at "The Intertidal World" art installation at the SW Spokane St, West End (google map link , also shown in the picture, below) where we'll review the artist-rendered field guide posted there and talk about the ecology of the intertidal zone before venturing into the intertidal area. (-4.1 @ 12:20pm)
- Parking - there is no time limit for parking on Beach Drive directly in front of the beach; however, it being a low tide day, parking there may be limited. Another good place to park is along 63th Ave SW.
- Weather - from NWS
- Bus - Metro #50 is the closest (link to Metro 50)
