7:30 AM at Preston Park N' Ride, North side of I-90 Exit 22
We will consolidate carpools at Preston Park N' Ride. From I-90 take Exit 22, turn left over I-90 and look for park n' ride on your left on the north side of I-90. From here, it takes about 1.5 hrs drive to trailhead. Trailhead Sno-Parks are at both sides of Blewitt Pass (4102 ft) on HWY 97. Sno-Park permit is required. With poles and good snowshoes like MSR, you should not need ice axe thru a short slope traverse. This is a great snowshoeing area: snow is normally drier. It's also off limits to the dreaded snowmobiles except at the Sno-Park. From there, we go our separate ways. It is a designated x-country ski area (Bronson & Haney Meadows). If clear, great views of the Stuart Range, North Cascades, Rainier, Mission Ridge and the Wenatchee valley.
