Intermediate Snowshoe - Panorama Point

NOTE: Route has changed to avoid the riskier avalanche terrain around Panorama Point. The revised route will strart at Paradise parking lot, travel to Reflection Lakes and then Bench Lake. The return will allow the option of travel via Mazama Ridge and 4th Crossing.

We will meet at the South Hill Park & Ride at 7:00 am. (SW corner of 9th Street SW (94th Ave E) & 31st Ave SW, Puyallup).  We will consolidate cars at the Park & Ride for the trip to Paradise.

Leader permission required.  This class is for Tacoma backcountry snowshoe students.  Thanks for understanding.

Plan on a full day of snowshoeing and 8+ miles of travel.  The route has changed from the original listing to avoid the riskier avalanche terrain around Panorama Point.  The trip will now start at the Paradies parking lot, pass by Reflection Lakes and then to Bench Lake.  The return trip will allow the option to return via Mazama Ridge and 4th Crossing.

Please remember that chains are required in all vehicles going to Paradise.

As with all winter trips, weather and avalanche conditions are factors.  This trip may  moved or cancelled if conditions are unsafe or unfavorable.  If this is required the trip leader will try to give as much advance notice as possible.
