Intermediate Snowshoe - Olallie Lake

This will be a winter overnight snow camping trip.

Please meet at TH by 1200 noon on day of snowshoe.  Please give extra time taking into account road conditions.  Please carpool to consolidate vehicles.  It may be necessary to park near the highway at the best spot available and walk to the TH.

Please review snow trench building techniques.  This trip is primarily for Tacoma Intermediate Climbing Students.

  • The Ten Essentials
  • Snowshoes
  • Poles
  • Microspikes or crampons.  (will access trail at beginning and determine need)
  • Stove and fuel.  (Preferably one that operates on white gas like a Whisperlite or Dragonfly). 
  • Water Filter
  • Backpack
  • Bivy or 4 season shelter
  • Winter sleeping bag
  • Micropore sleeping pad
  • Inflatable sleeping pad
  • Shovel
  • Snow Probe
  • Winter Clothing (Hard Shell, Puffy, Base Layer) 
  • Treats to share
