Crystal Springs Sno-Park, 8:00 am (groomed Sno-Park pass required)

Trip will have focus of identifying animal tracks & sign. Leader is certified in track & sign identification.

Trip is in partnership with Conservation NW for searching for signs of threatened & endangered species.

We will be stopping during the trip to examine animal tracks & sign, so could be standing around getting cold at times, but should still be able to reach our destination.

We will be going to (or towards) "Microwave Hill" (W summit of Keechelus Ridge), on logging roads or parallel to them. Will proceed to main summit if time / avalanche conditions permit.

Trip is contingent on acceptable snow, avalanche & driving conditions.

Members need to have a groomed Sno-Park Pass (or have a means of carpooling with a household/pod member who does).

Prior to starting the snowshoe activity itself, we will need to car-shuttle 2 miles from the Sno-Park to the starting point. Members need to be comfortable with this very short “carpool” (which would involve MASKS ON, WINDOWS DOWN, NO TALKING to minimize chance of virus transmission).

Equipment: Beacon / shovel / avalanche probe.
