Merritt Lake Loop - up to 8 miles, 3600' gain.

Merritt Lake is located 9 miles NE of Stevens Pass beneath the SE ridge of Mt Mastiff. The loop trip explores the lake and Merritt's SE ridge up to Point 6125, and on a clear day provides views of nearby Rock Mt, Mts Howard and Mastiff, and rugged summits N of Lake Wenatchee including Glacier Peak.

On the 23rd of November we were able to drive all the way to the Merritt Lake TH and didn't put on our snowshoes until 4000'. More likely on this trip we'll be parking on Rt 2, hiking the Merritt Lake road to around 3000', then turning N to gain the ridge and the trail junction to Merritt Lake.

I'll email TOPO! maps in JPEG format to trip participants prior to departure together with last-minute instructions.
