 Longmire Museum, 9:00 AM

The nights are long this time of year, but on December 30, 2019 the moon sets at 9:12 PM, so we may be able to do a moonlight snowshoe walk and have outstanding star viewing.  This is a 1-night snow camping snowshoe trip. We will be tent camping (not snow caves). Leader permission and prior snow camping experience required.

The destination is subject to change based on conditions and the opening time for the Longmire gate. Possible alternative destinations include Reflection Lakes and Rampart Ridge. Note that hard sided food containers are now required by the Park Service: http://www.nps.gov/mora/planyourvisit/winter-recreation.htm#CP_JUMP_230057 . However, last year the Park Service accepted Ursacks as an acceptable alternative.  All vehicles must carry chains past Longmire (even AWD vehicles).

Leader permission can be requested before the signup opening date by E-mail to the leader.
