Longmire Museum, 9:00 AM
The nights are long this time of year, but December 31, 2017 is a day before the full moon, and we may be able to do a moonlight snowshoe walk. This is a 1-night snow camping snowshoe trip. We will be tent camping (not snow caves). Leader permission and prior snow camping experience required.
The destination is subject to change based on conditions and the opening time for the Longmire gate. Possible alternative destinations include Reflection Lakes and Rampart Ridge. Note that hard sided food containers are now required by the Park Service: http://www.nps.gov/mora/planyourvisit/winter-recreation.htm#CP_JUMP_230057 . All vehicles must carry chains past Longmire (even AWD vehicles).
Leader permission required, which can be requested before the signup opening date by E-mail to the leader.
