7:30 AM at South Hill park-n-ride
The destination is Suprise Lake near Irish Cabin for a winter overnight. Trip would be rated moderate to strenuous depending on the distance we need to hike from the car. The trail itself is a little over 2.5 miles and gains about 1500ft. It is actually an abandoned logging road that still gets occassional atv usage in the summer. I expect this to be a combination snowshoe and wintercamping experience. There is a possibility of putting together a group potluck if people want. Not killer but you want to be comfortable outside at this time of year and be willing to put in some effort. If the weather is clear, great views south to Rainier. E-mail contact is best and any questions are fine.
