  • Winter Scramble, Moderate/Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 10.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,300 ft
  • Pace: 1000ft/hr

8:15am, North Bend Safeway parking lot for vaccinated folx or pandemic pods looking to carpool OR 9:45am, TH.

This is going to be like a box of chocolates: not sure what we're going to get, except beautiful views of the Enchantments peaks, Mt. Stuart, the I-90 peaks and the Teanaway.

We attempted this route on April 9 as a snowshoe and suspect the upper parts will still be snowshoe-able. For lower parts, it may be microspikes or maybe even some bare ground. Please bring poles and ice ax, just in case the top is icy.

The winter route up Jolly is primarily a road walk, but last time we found some steep off-trail travel and an old snowmobile track through the woods that was way more fun. We'll use GPS and good judgment to decide on our route this time.

Pace will be leisurely, though a fast and slow group may emerge in certain sections - waiting at junctions and observing all group safety standards.

Start time will be a little bit leisurely too, depending on where you're coming from.  Last light is at 9pm and the snowmobile parking lot is huge, so why wake up at O'dark-thirty on a Sunday morning?

The day is supposed to be glorious, but don't skimp on the essentials, cold weather gear or extra water.
