Intermediate Snowshoe - Hex Mountain (winter)

The trip starts with a good "warm up" on the Forest Service road that leads to the trailhead. Beyond the TH, the route ascends moderate ridges to the summit. Good views of Central Cascades and Stuart Range on a clear day!

  • Elevation Gain: 2,600 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 5,036 ft

You should arrive at 9 am at the parking area just short of Newport Creek on the Cle Elum river road north of Ronald. Parking is on the left hand side of the road just after you pass a fire station on the right hand side. 

Should bring Microspikes or a similar traction device in case there is ice on the trail.
