Annette Lake Trailhead - I-90 to exit 47 (Asahel Curtis/Denny Creek). Turn right from the off-ramp and continue 0.25 mile, then turn left on Forest Road 5590.

Meeting time: 7:45am

Note: To reach the trail in time, I will be departing from the Issaquah Transit Center Parking Deck, First Floor (SR 900 and Newport Way) at 7:00am

The snowshoe hike passes through several west facing avalanche chutes. The trip will be canceled if the avalanche forecast for Snoqualmie Pass (near treeline) is considerable or higher. The choice to proceed with the trip if the avalanche forecast is moderate or lower is that the avalanche chutes originate in treeline and are west facing, so the snow is relatively stable and there will not be significant warming of the slopes while we are hiking. Regardless of the forecast, we will take extra care when crossing these chutes.

Note: The go-decision for the trip will be made Friday evening. If the trip is called off, an alternative snowshoe trip (ideally intermediate) will be determined.
