Car camp at Blue Lake trailhead on Saturday night.

Date is dependent on when Highway 20 opens.  Some years it opens as early as March, some years May.  April 11/12 will depend on this winters snowpack.

Last time I did this early season it was a mix of easy ice climbing and mixed with a ice/rock step using 2 ice tools.  So its listed as intermediate ice, I'd consider a basic grad who has a good amount of steep snow experience.   It could wind up being an easy snow couloir too.   Not for new basic students or those who only have basic grad skills.  Will be taking 2 ice tools/technical tools.
