Mount Thompson/West Ridge

Intermediate Alpine Climb - Mount Thompson/West Ridge

Day and a half Mt. Thompson (or is it Thomson?) climb. Will consider making it a one-dayer if folks REALLY don't want to camp...

  • Adults
  • Intermediate Rock Climb
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 20.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,500 ft

Meeting place to be determined.

Will coordinate gear when the group is assembled.

Trip reports indicate this is a straightforward climb; I rate it as moderate anyways since I've never been on it.

If this stays as a two-dayer, may open to six folks. (typical car-to-car is about 14 hours...)

Some use the commonwealth trail cutoff; others say just stay on the PCT; am open to opinions on this.
