Party will make an alpine start from Olympia on the morning of Saturday, May 5th.

Highly unlikely road is cleared to TH, likely an extended approach for this two day trip.

Not suitable for a first Intermediate climb.

Very early departure from Olympia Saturday, May 5; Summit attempt Sunday, May 6.

  • The Ten Essentials
  • Mountain boots that can accept crampons (not hiking boots)
  • Technical crampons
  • 2 ice tools, at least one a technical ice tool
  • 6 Ice screws per party member
  • 2 pickets per party member
  • A sleeping bag rated to +20 degrees or colder
  • A sleeping pad
  • A back pack (40 to 60 liters)
  • Webbing and accessory cords
  • 6 straight gate carabiners
  • 4 locking carabiners
  • Large pear-shaped locking carabiner
  • Belay device
  • Climbing harness
  • Helmet
  • Rescue pulley
  • Fleece or puffy jacket
  • Rain jacket and full-zip rain pants
  • Belay gloves
  • Warm gloves or mittens
  • Cordellete
  • Extra webbing or cord
  • Group Gear (Shelter, Stove, Fuel, Filter, Rope) as assigned.
