  • A 2 day/1 night climb of Mt Baker via the North Ridge. We will camp 1 night at Gargoyle Rocks, ~6,275'
  • Alpine start on day 2 to climb the North Ridge, descend via Coleman-Deming back to camp.
  • Climbing the North Ridge is AI 2-3. 
  • Participants are expected to lead at least 1 pitch of ice to get alpine ice credit counting toward Intermediate Alpine Climbing course graduation requirements

Requesting permission:

  • This trip is open to people who have completed the Alpine Ice module or equivalent, with priority  to Kitsap intermediate students.  Climbers from other branches may register starting May 14th.
  • When requesting permission, please mention your alpine ice climbing experience, previous glacier experience, and current conditioning.

9:00 AM at the Glacier Public Service Center.   We may need to do a mountain bike approach if the Heliotrope Road is washed out.
