- Mountain boots that can accept crampons (not hiking boots)
- Approach shoes, seriously no one wants to hike 18 miles on a trail in mountaineering boots when you could be in comfortable hiking boots or sneakers

- A back pack (40 to 60 liters)
- Webbing and accessory cords
- 6 straight gate carabiners
